We visited the Globe to see The Taming of the Shrew on 18th June 2024. We were very dissapointed. We ended up following the script in the copy of the play we had with us as many actors had poor diction or did not know how to talk to the audience. Huge sections were missed out. Some of the acting was very poor. One women shouted her lines the whole way through. There were 2 women as men. Their diction was so bad we could not tell which was which person. We felt they were cast wrongly as the lines they were saying were written by Shakespheare for men to say about women and they did not have the same feeling when said by women. Shakespheare did not write swear words so why was it necessary for the actors to f****** use them. The costumes though unique were more appropriate to a kids party or a musical. Many of the audience walked out, A poor show Globe !!!!!
