Matthew Zuckerman

I'm surprised this film has received such good reviews. It shares all the faults of the David Lynch version, plus dreadful music that drowns out half the dialogue, and wooden acting more suited to an Ed Wood movie. Effects are excellent but the action scenes look more like a computer game than a movie. All of the complexity of Herbert's story has been sacrificed and replaced by a somnambulant facsimile of Star Wars.
