Not bad but I feel Ken Loach does a better job of using non actor's in his films. In the absence of professional skilled actors you're left with the plot, script and direction which I think were substandard in this case. I can see that the film would appeal to young people of that milieu; great to see representation of your group but left me cold. One standout performance was Emmanuelle, very natural and convincing. Roshe was also pretty good. It was billed as a tear jerker but there was little of that portrayed on the screen although the story was clearly an emotional one.

Poor script. Slack editing with overlong shots. Adam Brody is okay with bad material but his costar is blank faced and unintelligible. You have to blame the director for all of this. Good music.

Good first episode but goes rapidly down hill. I feel sorry for the actors; the script is thin , the story uninteresting and the directing is aimless. The bottom falls out of episodes 4, 5 and 6 . You think episode 4 is a pause for breath before it gets going again but then episodes 5 and 6 maintain the same uneventful, unengaging low level implausibility. I'm not sure I can finish it and I can normally stomache some low bar stuff.
