This movie is an elegant masterpiece. I don't know how a film can feel at the same time light as a feather and heavy as rock in your chest at the same time. The soundtrack, the pace of the dialogue, the choice of actors just perfect. Somehow I thought for a moment of other women talking, Aristophanes' women in Lysistrata. Though there is no resemblance in theme, genre or subject, it is the power of a collective to act against unjustice where the individual has no power to do it that probably prompted me to remember the Greek comedy.

Absolutely brilliant! No words could do it justice. A must watch!

A terrific debut, this movie carefully constructs the background of many stories we encounter both in fiction and reality. We usually are confronted by the gruesome effects of falling into the trap. We never see the trap being built, meticulously, around someone so young. It was difficult to watch because it exposes that tension within vulnerable people between saying no/ being rational and blindly accepting anything in the name of an emotional.bond.

Amazing movie, heartwarming, strong acting from Viola Davis. I loved every minute of it, the subject, the characters and if course the music. I will have to watch it again with my daughter soon.

I found the movie exceptionally atmospheric. The actors were impeccably casted . Chekhov's character study is carefully revealed by each of the actors. I loved it.
