Super good movie which had incredible callbacks to the original with such attention to detail. All of our main characters act and rational ways and chaos ensues as they navigate the unknown horrors in space.

Fantastic movie that I was glad to watch the day it released. Everything you loved from the first but in greater quantities. Some of the best looking cinema I've seen in awhile. Definitely one I recommend you catch in the movie theater. The soundtrack, acting, writing, and visuals were all stunning!

If you enjoy the "franchise" ;) then this is a great addition. Thrilling yet fun as always.

So far it's been a good show. Setup seems to be really good and I'm excited to see where it goes. It seems to be a lot of criticism from those that don't quite understand Star Wars. Not perfect but it's also not a blockbuster film. I think it's a show that has a lot of potential and some people just wanted to hate it.

This was a tonally strange movie. At times they nailed it with the horror aspect. Then there were other moments that had me taken completely out of the film. This movie was trying to do something new but also follow that Marvel feel. The movie desperately needed to pick one but couldn't commit to this. I could easily see this being a 4 or 5. Unfortunately it just drops the ball on key parts of the film. For as great as the cast was and visuals unfortunately it seems the direction the director took this really took away from all those aspects at key points in the movie.

It's not the most fast paced episode of tv but many of my favorite things are not. Game of thrones which had an excellent first season had a slow first episode. It's very much like the first game in a D&D campaign it introduces characters we understand some motivations and leaves lots of room for growth. It even has a little action just like most DM's have in a first session. The episode sets the stage beautifully for what could be a great series. At this point it's all about the follow through. Many people forget if we start at 10 and keep things at a 10 than there is no real story you need to build to a climax and then reach resolution. A good speaker acts much in the same way, if you emphasize everything the same and yell the entire time you lose people. You need to hammer in the right points and build to something. The first episode has set the stage right so that the buildup can pay off.

What a setup! I have not read the books so I will be reviewing this franchise as someone who is new to the series. The acting was phenomenal. While there are many well-known actors in the movie they deliver excellent performances and their presence does not take you out of the movie. So often well-known actors struggle to play a role without reminding people of some of their more well-known characters. This is not the case in Dune. The story to me is captivating. You really get a sense of all the political drama going on even though it's not all on screen for you to see. There are clearly many players plotting and I'm sure future installments will bring us more parties in this game of political chess. Visually it was nothing short of stunning. Exactly what you'd expect from such a great film and I would recommend seeing it in theater so you can really take in the full surround sound system. Overall I would highly recommend it and it is completely deserving of five stars.

Many Characters got far more development than they ever did in the original show. Very excited for part 2 of the season I hope people don't prevent that. Many attacks on the show are sexist in nature. The show is masters of the universe not he-man, he man is in it plenty and may continue to be. I watched the show with no knowledge of all the drama around the show and loved it. We really get to see certain characters struggle in ways we have never seen before. It is a shame that some people feel the need to attack a show because of its increased representation of minorities. Part two is still coming and most legitimate attacks on the show act as if there is not a second part to the season. This was the buildup to the storm.
