I wanted to like this show, but I couldn't get past the wooden dialogue and the 'Days of Our Lives' feel to it. At first I wondered how a British drama could feel so removed from its roots, but I then realised the author of the story is American. The whole thing feels clunky and overworked.

Just a beautiful show. I'm halfway through season 3, and it is excellent. Many of the interactions between Nikki and Jason and the addition(s) to their family are relatable to any parent and are a reminder of the doubts and struggles a lot of us go through. Pretty much every episode of this show offers a mixture of laughter and tears. It just sucks you in and makes you feel like you know each of the characters intimately. Probably because it goes deeper than just being a comedy about adopting. The conversations Nikki and Jason have between themselves and with those around them about their struggles are at the heart of the show.
