If you’ve ever experienced Appalachia, especially in the late 90s - early 2000s… this book will tear you apart. It wrecked me in so many ways because you saw it and these people are people you knew, and often lost. There are parts I smacked my head in wanting this character to just make a good choice, let people help… and yet, sometimes we have to learn on our own. Highly recommend.
