Everett Maddox

This book of the demise and subjugation of the native peoples of N America should be required reading. The period of history is like no other. The ability for native peoples to survive in hostile environments is fascinating. It was inevitable that subjugation would occur but there is a profound sadness in this story. I reccomend reading Blood and Thunder by Hampton Sides before this book. It would chronologically present a more complete story of the changes that occurred and the daring exploits of those that affected the change.
