HBO knew what they were doing with this. Nothing about "Velma" is an accident. Everything was carefully planned, designed, and orchestrated to purposely upset us and the loyal fans. No matter what, controversy sells. Look at us! Right now we're talking about HBO. Nobody is talking about Showtime, Starz, Epix, or Cinemax. This is what HBO wanted the entire time. It's cheap and effective, and most of all...the strategy worked.
We all know that HBO is not going to apologize or change anything. They knew from the beginning that Velma was woke garbage that nobody asked for (or wanted at all) and yet, they released it anyways because no matter what happens, they win.
Well played HBO.
