Good actors with a decent script but the predominantly English accents and a sprinkling of a number of odd other accents grates in the context of a french location. Have had scores of French colleagues in my career and the kisses on both cheeks on display throughout the programme is not authentic and rather mechanical. I get it that it is meant to be somewhat tongue in cheek but altogether doesn’t work for me and am reluctant to try episode 2. We will have a family conflab to decide either way.
