READ THE BOOK FIRST.
Good time pass. I laughed, i cringed, i took a break.
The chemistry is slow to boil and the lead guy is more creepy than endearing. Even so, there are SOME cute moments like 3.
The delivery is largely unconvincing and awkward.
The music is mostly ill fitted for the visuals but enjoyable and revitalizing. Views of the city are gorgeous but overdone.
We also get educational scenes which is pretty cool.

The production quality is high and the cinematography is awesome. However No part of this film is a love story, so many disturbing things were swept under the rug - sexual assault, the impact of colonialization, exploitation, violence. Which part of "TROPICAL PLANTATION" is cute? And the main guy is positioned like an angel and the main lady is positioned like his little adventure, redeeming character...wow does not sit well with my soul
