1st if all and to sum it up; it's a good game and is worth playing but, simply what made the 1st part one of the best games wasn't the gameplay solely but was mainly its story and the way it was directed. Sadly this isn't the case in part 2 except for the birthday chapter that reminded us why did we fall in love with this game.
The concept of the 2nd part is great and if it wasn't built on a sequel it could have been as good as the 1st part yet because most of the fans are emotionally attach to Joel and Ellie it was very unlikely to sympathise with the other side. Despite it was annoying to play with Abby yet along the gameplay you find it enjoyable. Perhaps because they put you in a similar case to Joel and Ellie's but why at the cost of damaging Joel's image or making Ellie look paranoid.
Also there are lots of contradictions in the story; 1st Ellie is sad that she couldn't help humanity survive yet she's lesbian. 2nd the doctor was okay to kill a kid as old as his daughter to find a cure and his daughter (who is a kid) was okay with that!?
3rd Revenge is a roller coaster that doesn't end! And eventually it doesn't happen (which is good btw) yet at a stage it was boring and didn t even end positively however we were left with two broken souls.
Despite the 1st part that I loved its ending, I was stunned for minute to really accept that this is how the 2nd part ended.
Speaking of story directing; I believe it was one of the biggest fails of the game. Some major scenes were very short and dull almost in all the climaxes of the story. The background music was weak. Flashback was boring at some point.
In summary the gameplay is one of the best, the concept of the story is smart yet the way it was directed was a big fail.
