A grassroots personal heartfelt documentary that speaks to the experience of many people but is often not exposed outside the family and sometimes not even within the family. The story connected with me and in some ways to my experience of this past era, which though quite different generates similar emotions. I think it important to look back and revise the lessons learnt from WII and post WWII. This is particularly relevant in the climate in which our nation yet again hears the distant drums of war. We can choose to share these past experiences and lessons and work away from a war footing or we can choose to ignore that knowledge and again become victims of past failures. I think this documentary is a slow tiny step in the right direction while being enjoyable to watch.
