Makes no sense. Zero sense. Very badly planned because the second Hasan found Defoe after the explosion and thus had access to "the throat", she could have very simply just used it to go back and kill Elias, right after his dad died, instead of letting him go. Or she could've just not passed by his mum's which is what made him angry enough to set off the bomb. Because nothing can convince me that Hasan had the throat in her possession for anywhere around 29-30 years and didn't just think of that? The whole story can be picked apart by that one hole and so its not worth it to me.
The bad music work, bad scripting, and other bad one-dimensional portrayal of humans and time periods don't even matter after that.
