This book is adorable, as well as sturdy, and research-based for jump-starting language acquisition. We got it for the one-year old triplets, but our 5- and 7-year old are fascinated with it as well, searching out the named items in the busy picture-page of activities. I can't believe it is so inexpensive. I'm ordering a bunch now for new-mom presents.
I think it will be very helpful in educating mothers (who have now been brainwashed to believe drowning their children in verbiage is beneficial) to understand that in these early stages, one-. two- and three-word phrases are the most effective in helping their kids with learning to talk.
I also like the varied ethnic background of the nine babies' photos from different countries populating the pages. And I love the illustrator's drawings; I plan to look for more of her work.
