Local, Hilton Head Island Arts Center, production terrible, we left at intermission. Audio was mixed 2 languages (strong speech dialects making it seem like 4-5 different languages) Intermingled so confusing I couldn’t distinguish the leading names of any of the leading characters. Perusing the printed program I should have been able to distinguish Kevin, Camilla, U/S Kevin, Nina, Sonny. I could not?? The suggestion in the program that “in the Heights“ revolutionized American musical theater for good“ surely is a boast that will never come about. The drum beat throughout was Done nicely, the only positive thing that I can think this production warranted. Sorry, Robert Payne 5/27/22
