A non-spoiler review from a 17 year old
This was such an amazing movie and changed my outlook on mothers, women, kids, and even myself.
Ive only ever cried to two movies in my life and this was one of them, the way i felt after watching it was unexplainable. Both happy and sad. It made me happy with all of the jokes, and how the movie perfectly pictures growing into womanhood. It even made me whip out my old barbie and put her on a shelf for a constant reminder of how the movie made me feel. It made me feel sad about the truth of (some not all) male stereotypes directed towards woman, definitely made me realise my worth in that sense.
It also made me keep my eye open for how some men reacted to this movie. Most if not all of the one star reviews are from men sadly. I understand where they are coming from but I feel as if they didn't take the time to truly understand what the movie is trying to show. It is not "man hating" in any way, if anything its loving to both men and woman.
Couldn't reccomend this movie more. 10/10.
