I read the entire book. Given what I have experienced over my long life( I am 84) it all seems plausible. His rational for why nothing can stop the decline into the abyss is well articulated and seems to reflect our reality. The reason why our leaders won't bestir themselves to do anything is like me they don't expect to be around for the end. Their children like mine will have to deal with it!
