Wonderful story. The characters and the scenery still haunt me. I love Catherine Gaskin. At the beginning she sets up the characters and draws the reader in. 1/3rd way through, the pace quickens and by 1/2 way the excitement builds and there are unexpected twists and turns. Do not overlook any of the characters; some may turn up again with more importance. I read one of her books in 1970 and never forgot her name. She was never available in the library but now I have found her in e books and will read them all. So far, I Know My Love is my favourite but I have been captivated by them all. Five stars plus is my recommendation.
