Can’t understand why some people are giving this album such a poor review. I can only think that it’s being compared to earlier work with the expectation that it should sound like another version of Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie. Instead Billy Corgan has moved on and you get brand new music. I like this approach because it avoids the mistake made by so many bands. You can't move on if all you are doing is recording variations of the songs that originally made you famous. It’s interesting, the songs are well written, the production sounds great and there is an added bonus. If I want to hear a recording that sounds like one of their earlier classics I can always play one of their earlier classics. 😊
