You look at LOTR, one of the best trilogies of all time, it is hard to live up to that, so you can give some Lee way for the rings of power to fill in some gaps. And they do, the gaps are being filled with poor character development, and story telling that can only be told by 20 writers in a studio. Toilken would be rolling in his grave. Shame.
