Candyman- the legend, the spirit, the masterpiece of its time. I have watched this movie in several stages of my live. Me, the 11 year old, came first - I couldn’t use a loo with a mirror inside of it for 2 weeks straight, then again when I was 16 - once I hit this stage in my life I could start really enjoying them more and be able to see more details both in the music and the shots. The music is so spot on, the sudden scares placed so perfectly. Candyman was my childhood scary movie. I’m rewatching, once again, to try and relive better time. Tony Todd as Candyman was perfectly cast and love Virginia Madson. They pair so well and this movie is still all that and more. I’ve read Hellraiser, I’ve seen the Human centipede and this is still my all time favorite - classic
20 years later and I still love this movie. Wish more horrors films followed along.I love how they don’t shy away from peoples struggles and what police do when called to help.
As a South African I understand always having your guard up. This movie didn’t shy away from what was going on in Chicago housing projects. This really is more than a horror movie, it makes think about about poverty and drugs and in that situation, one can understand why kids head to gang or pick up being a drug dealer - what would you do in their situation - anyway , I’m ranting ——————————
Watch the movie and make up your own mind ————————
