I read through the pages with such high expectations , a singularly profound and moving work, but how can the experts, the literary heavyweights get it so wrong? . A tale of hurt, self loathing but the characters are so incredibly talented tortured privileged… everything is too perfect … the cuts deeper than any doctor has ever seen before - I couldn’t see Jude as a real person, I couldn’t feel pity for him because the author lacked the subtlety of her more accomplished contemporary writers. It’s a no from me !!!!!
