I have watched every episode and value the sophistication of the story line and the performances of the actors. Some people complained about the November 1, 2020 show because it showed the behind-the-scenes world of hospitals and doctors (and patients) dealing with COVID 19. I know that many Americans are already tense this week because of the election, but the show gave me a much greater awareness of what doctors are dealing with, day after day, as they fight to save lives. The fact that our government has no plan to fight the virus and has simply waved a white flag of surrender makes it even more poignant, since this struggle will go on until someone exercises leadership. In the meantime, The Good Doctor showed us what happens behind the scenes. What happens to relationships, mental health, and the ability to continue to function effectively. I thought it was painful but valuable.
