*SPOILER ALERT*
I had become to enjoy watching shark movies. They're adventurous, thrilling, and unpredictable for the most part. I found most are educational as well. I did not know this movie existed, then with Halle Berry in it, I thought I'd check it out.
This movie was very boring in the beginning. I was confused on whether or not it was culturally motivated, a comeback story, a love story, or all in one. What ever was tried to be accomplished failed miserably. I was waiting on some consistency and meaning. I wanted to feel her hurt, her regret, her fear, and eventually her victory of overcoming a traumatic experience, conquering her fears, and her life being restored to her purpose.
Her significant other is a NARCISSIST. And I hate that word cause its overused. But he actually took her on a emotional guilt trip and manipulated her into doing something irrational and put peoples lives in danger! The line "STOP USING ME TO MAKE MONEY!!" Was exactly what he was doing. Her purpose was not to be a negligent shark chaser. She was a professional and he used her emotions and passion against HER and everyone who died at the end.
So it all ended in MORE TRAUMA. LOL. Like what? The last scene of this movie should have been a LAWSUIT in front of a court with a grand jury. I'm all for unpredictable endings but this ending was....mm.
