I loved it at first because it had me at Bill Crudup. Love Jen Aniston too. I love the premise of The Morning Show as I am intrigued by what really in fact might be going on behind the scenes on a show such as Good Morning America, The View, Hoda and Jenna, The Talk…
There were times I was interested and mostly completely bored and shocked at the sex scenes, especially the first one in the alley with the bartender that Reese was in… seriously, I have teenage daughters at home who are searching shows and watching them… the first thing I thought of was … WOW! It obviously doesn’t matter to her what her own children think about her or if that scene is something she can be proud of when they are watching. I see her with different eyes now, I can’t be played just because she was acting! The obscenities I could have done without. But mostly there are just scenes that couldn’t possibly take place in real life like the rocket episode. Seriously? People have to go through extreme and extensive training, physically and mentally preparedness for a trip into space. One does not just arrive at NASA , hop on a rocket and blast off!! No no, no. Hilarious!!! And then in a blink of an eye, the very same day you’re jet setting to the next dramatic event in a different state.
I wanted to love this limited series on Apple TV but the massive unrealistic amount of scenarios was dizzying and ultimately a let down. It went down hill after they killed off Mitch. Sometimes the writers just don’t know where else to go, I guess. Like I don’t get why the producers would bring on certain characters like the beautiful Italian actress, Valeria Golino, take her as far as Cory’s office then dismiss her entire plot. That was weird. However if I had to choose my favorite scene out of all three seasons it would be the scene where Alex ( Jen) comes to deliver the news to Mitch’s wife at her home (Embeth Davidtz) that he is dead. Embeth is exquisite in her performance and the chemistry with Jen was outstanding. There were so many flubs though throughout the series , but I spend a lot of time looking through a director/producer, lens, I suppose. And what in the world was that ending?? She got a job at the FBI? So strange… With such a phenomenal cast, I expected so much better. Like to the moon better! This was a hot mess and a total miss! And everyone else who reviewed this to series to be five stars, completely doesn’t know any better, like the writers and the producers. Sorry not sorry
