DC's Pepsi to Marvel's Coke, Avengers Wannabe / Unintentional Avengers Parody
I know DCEU and MCU are both based on their comic characters that've been around for decades, and I don't know which ones might've influenced / copied whom first, but I *do* know that Marvel was the first one out with massive line of closely released massively successful movie versions, so they've set the bar and are the ones to beat and "copy" as far the movies are concerned.
Like my title indicated, Black Adam seemed liked a Avengers wannabe and almost seemed like a DC's version of an SNL parody of Marvel movies. It was a formulaic mishmash of multiple MCU characters and movies.
1. Kahndaq: Mythical modern day African city with ancient roots and a rare supernatural mineral like Wakanda.
2. Eternium: Rare mineral in Kahndaq with supernatural powers and is used for super high tech and much desired by criminal elements just like Vibranium in Wakanda.
3. Black Adam: An x-normal human in Africa granted God-like: a) powers like Moon Knight and b) physique, speed and strength like Captain America. And with naiveite due to being in suspended animation for long time (5k years) like Captain America's 70 years and like Vision (albeit in his case, due to being an AI). He also seems to have powers greater than his superhero teammates like Vision and Thor.
4. Hawkman: Human that relies on supernatural gadgetry like: a) pop-out metallic wings (used for flight and shields (for himself and others)), b) infrared vision goggles and c) variety of pop-up weapons (mace, battleaxe) like Falcon.
5. Dr. Fate: Wise human sorcerer with ability to do all kinds of real magic tricks and see the future like Dr. Strange.
6. Cyclone: Female human with ability to harness wind like Storm. Token young female / girl with "unusual" STEM skillz like Shuri.
7. Atom Smasher: Human that: a) acquired (innate / gadget-driven) super-powers from a male (real / figurative) ancestor, b) can instantly grow to several times his size and c) has a bumbling personality like Ant Man. Token young bumbling man / boy like Spiderman (or as I like to call him, Spiderboy). Literally has "Smash" in his name and sure enough, "smash"-es things like The Hulk.
8. Adrianna Tomaz: Emotionally strong and tough human (real / figurative) mother with no-superpowers 1like Aunt May.
9. Flying Fox(?): Super high-tech jet that ferries all the superheroes like the Quinjet.
10. Formulaic plot: Pulls from several Marvel movies like Force Awakens pulled from New Hope. Superheroes (esp. the two lead ones) fight each other like in Civil War.
