I live near where Eulalia, also known a Sister Bourne, lived and worked - the San Pedro River Valley, the eastern side of the Catalinas, and the western slopes of the Galiuro Mountains. I find it fascinating to read history from first-hand accounts; pioneers, explorers, miners, trappers, and ranchers because you see the story through the eyes of one who was there, not just armchair researchers or biographers no matter how excellent their accounts might also be.
Eulalia Bourne was quite a person. She rode her horse many miles in a single day while she was a schoolteacher in Redington and had an eye for singling out and describing nature experiences that others might just take for granted. A woman I would have loved to have met and known as a friend.
