I enjoyed this movie.people below the comments giving ignorant reviews probably expected a kid cartoon not realizing that this was made for adults in the late 70s.calling the film not creative when it's a philosophy, sci-fi aspect of a celestial society....I wouldn't expected a basic person,who probably looking to watch Looney toons to comprehend or enjoy that. For y'all who didn't understand the film. Fantastic planet is about an alien race who were giant intelligent and genetically superior beings to oms( human like beings). The moral of the story is about how draags(celestial beings) Seen humans as animals/pets because they were less intelligent similar to how humans view animals. Majority of The humans acted uncivilized and didn't understand morality ,killing ,fighting and attacking eachother. Until a human who was kept as a pet,learned to act humane after a disfunction in his collar allowed him to learn from his owner lessons. He then stole the draags knowledge that was kept from oms,starting a uprising and a spark in his tribe, they grew smarter and became civil. They still had other oms who were wild ,thieves and immoral and self righteous people.causing a division,nature vs nurture. But later on in the film after they was hunted down by the celestial beings,they begin to use their knowledge and companionship to fight back. Becoming a threat to the draags,they decided to consider truths and harmony with the oms,after realizing they were not only capable of being intelligent but a threat to their kind. this movie speaks alot about today's society. But I guess people came to scream weird because they cant comprehend anything outside brain dead entertainment and to complain about the characters clothes....lol. This movie was unique and fascinating
