Long time fan of the books. Have read the series multiple times. While the show is visually well done, the departures from the book are often unnecessary. As a fan, I feel the story I feel in love with was betrayed by the show. I am trying to rewatch season one and within 10min I’m so frustrated by unnecessary changes that I stopped. Making adaptations for tv is fine but don’t alienate the entire fan base with pointless changes. The pros: Good casting and acting which has a range of diversity. Visually spectacular. My favorite fantasy world in live action is exciting.
