Half-baked plot. The idea of creating, raising, concealing, guarding, feeding, clothing, toileting thousands or millions of clone creatures that appear to be able to do NOTHING for themselves, other than acting out their tether human's actions(and apparently eating raw rabbits), is too big of a plot hole to be believed . Clever social commentary can be woven into a cohesive plot, but it's not a substitute for it.
