I loved Jane Harper’s previous three books but this one just didn’t grab me the same way, I would describe it as ‘meh’.
I initially had trouble keeping up with all the characters, too many names introduced in short succession. Once I’d got over that, the plot just wasn’t gripping enough (for me) to make me desperate to keep reading.
I didn’t see the plot twist, revealed right at the end, coming, but I wasn’t invested enough to care terribly much.
