I would say, “what a joke” but that would imply that the author has a sense of humor. The more I think about it, the angrier I get because I wasted a month of my life reading this boring thing. Not only was Violet insufferable, but the whole plot, if you can call it that made no sense. If people aren’t busy killing themselves or each other for no reason, there’s something about dark magic and something something dark side. I don’t know. Just save your time and brain cells.

Ug, where do I begin? This story had way too many plot threads leading nowhere along with a lack of main characters. It didn’t even get interesting until 3/4 of the way through, it would have been so much better if they had simply followed and made Dr. Leng into an actual character and not the mustache twirling bad guy. Also, seriously, what was up with Vincent? And Laura? Why did they take perfectly nice and developed characters and turn them into sidekick shells of cliches? This could have been as interesting as the original Cabinet of Curiosities, which is a book I really enjoyed, and unfortunately, these follow up stories have been empty.
