*Spoiler alert below* Have seen most the James Bond films in the theatre going back to Live and Let Die and Thunderball etc. Most of the time, the storyline was around the action, villains, ending, James Bond character etc. Lately James Bond as a human. Movies were always good, to varying degrees. One of the best in terms of character development and the romance with his wife was with George Lazenby as Bond and Diana Riggs as his eventual wife There was love and romance there. All done within the course of one movie. Starting with Pierce Brosnan, Bond's feelings and emotions became more apparent and parr of the movie. That was further brought forward starting with Daniel Craig in Casino Royale. The latest and final with Craig was disappointing. 3 stars from me. 4 stars for the stunts and actions, 2 stars for the characters and Bond. The motivation for the villain was unclear (they killed his family)?? The new female 007 was good and bold and brazen and assertive (questions what her number was when Bond was given the 007 back) but then folded like a cheap tent when she said he deserved it. An assertive 007 should not have done that. Too phony. Sent wrong message about female Bond. The worst though was the relationship between Bond and Madeline. Never really developed. It was not there. Both going through the motions plus Bond claimed love for Vesper at her grave and yet still was with Madeline and then dumped her instantly when he thought she betrayed him. Bond was too emotional. It didn't fit the character. Maybe DG but not Bond. The death though, cmon. Bond does not die, ever. It could have ended more vaguely to allow the James Bond will return, creating suspense. A dead Bond can't come back. This isnt Dallas and a last season dead Bobby coming out of the shower the next season. Shouldnt make the movie for Craig. The movie is for James Bond. Disappointing film. Worst of the Craig/Bond movies.
