Unfortunately, the series missed the mark on the way they depicted Secretary Stanton, Mary Todd Lincoln and President Lincoln. Ford’s theater was not accurately reproduced. The one unforgivable error though was the mistake in Secretary Stanton’s words when President Lincoln died. The series uses “Now he belongs to the Angels”. It is well documented that his words were “Now he belongs to the Ages”. Accuracy does matter and detracts from the series when the writers and director cannot get their facts straight.
