Amazing drama. Truly engaging. 4 stars because at times it feels like the writing takes unrealistic turns just because it’s convenient to the writers. Don’t get me wrong. It’s really well written, but not everything about the show is quite convincing. The Vietnam stuff is one of them. Unnecessary. Character development is somewhat great. They were all deeply thought out except for one maybe. At times the middle child was unrealistic too but you can definitely get over her “sense of justice”. I just don’t know what kind of feeling the writers were thinking that end would incite in viewers. Spoilers ahead. The youngest sister’s character just doesn’t make sense. She’s needlessly condescending, ungrateful and selfish at times. I thought I would be able to clear that bitterness but the writers thought her giving away other people’s money to the people that have literally done everything for her as if it was some grand gesture being ideal. That was a cheap ending and honestly a bit too unsettling for me. I get that she’s just a teenager but you’ve built her to be smart and she simply came off too incongruous. This great show deserved a better ending. I totally recommend watching and deciding for yourself tho. For a 12-ep series the thrill is incredible and the plot twists are to die for.

Season 1, not as woke as you might think. Not perfect, but you’ll probably enjoy. Season 2 has it all. Quite a shame for a show with so much potential (read the very realistic book) If all you’re looking for is a good, fun, thrilling show with no virtue signalling or unnecessary politics, you most definitely will be triggered in this one. The writer’s literally trying to press all the buttons at once, especially in that 5th episode of S02. And this Janae girl is truly the star. She might’ve gotten on your nerves in S01 but she’ll knock you out in the following one, and it’s not because she’s suddenly “fluid”. It’s just so hard to like this girl/boy and her gazillion personalities. Her character just seems too forced it’s annoying. Maeve definitely deserves someone more stable, and i hope she finds one. As for the rest. Nat almost disappointed me in S02 but we made up. Fav character so far. Second is my guy Coop, then, and quite surprisingly Kris, who’s way better in a less active s02. Bronwyn is the boss lady (which I don’t mind) and Addy is your typical cheerleader from teen movies. 2 stars because it’s too woke in s02 but if that’s no biggie for you then 4 stars
