Incredible documentary of my childhood hero, who redefined his life as one of having a greater purpose when he became paralyzed. This movie shows what unconditional love, support, grace, feeling seen and faith can do to change the condition of those who may be underrepresented in the world, such as those with disabilities seen and unseen. I loved Christopher Reeve as Superman, but i really love that he used his misfortune to fight for a cause bigger than himself. That is what makes him an even bigger hero to me. It was beautiful to see how committed his wife was to loving, supporting and encouraging her husband and their children, and to see their children honor their legacies. Seeing the advancement of creating options that provide more comfort for families of SCI and innovations are proof he used his stardom to make a difference. The movie was a bit sad and heavy. It took a few hours after the movie to really pause and reflect on what it means to live a life of purpose beyond yourself and to decompress, but it was well worth seeing.
