I have lost count of the number of times I have read this novel. The characters have all become dear friends to me. I treasure this story the way I treasured A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, when I was a teenager. The Audiobook of The Goldfinch, read by David Pittu, is a masterpiece.
