When I had lost hope in the Bollywood machine, hope springs anew with this gem. Enthralling, captivating, immersing into an experience of truly high cinematic value. The genuine portrayal of a singer catering to the masses and yet not glancing lewdly at his fellow female performer speaks volume of Diljith's acting. The joyous colors of Punjab and the dark upheaval caused by militancy juxtaposes to pull the viewer into every frame. Upon facing threats and opposition to his lewd music, the character admitting his limitations about being a 'small' guy risen from dirt poor conditions and not wanting to go back to it renders a truly poignant scene. He is willing to risk it and also paid it with this life. Masterful performance by the cast. Excellent presentation of the Punjabi lyrics in an animated fashion. Truly a 'Chamkilee' movie !!!
