I saw the original in the theater four times when I was a teenager and it's been one of my all time faves. This new one would have been received much better if the characters had different names. People for some reason were not cool with a new Eric. But if you ignore that bs, you will enjoy a good film with great performances and an interesting new take without stealing anything away from Lee. The soundtrack is nowhere near as good as the original but we had to expect that. You really can't compare 90s rock to the crap out today.
