Nice cinematography, scenery, & period dress, but infantile dialogue delivered stiffly. Scenes are overextended, with little payoff & believable plot lines. Characters are flat caricatures, & interactions are straight out of some OC teen drama. Waaaay too little monster, which is the point, isn't it? All in all, very disappointing for what ought to be an excellent Toho reboot.
