Not the usual Tom Hanks fare but it captivated my attention from the opening scene. Superb acting that some might find was too understated, reserved and even dull. Being from one of the generations that grew up with black and white movies and early black and white TV, I thrive on movies that do more talking than bloodletting so, I was quite content to spend an hour and forty minutes or so immersed in a story. A story told from a very strange perspective, from the same angle of view and with a time lapse that is unprecedented in my memory. I found 'Here' fascinating, absorbing, thought provoking, funny, emotional and magnetic. To turn away for a moment was a no-no as I didn't want to miss a thing. I laughed, I cried and I was entertained. I Loved 'HERE'.

I have been patient and have watched every show this season but I have been tortured by the ugly backdrop set. I feel like there is soooo much going on that the eyes and brain are distracted from the game itself. The years of beautiful scenery and calm settings as background never took my mind off the current puzzle like this horrible multi color, spikey, ugly, distracting set does. What were you thinking when you okayed this design monstrosity. Shows that air in other countries are noisier, louder, more colorful and definitely more a VARIETY SHOW than a GAME SHOW. Why would you copy them???? You are the FIRST and Americans have enjoyed, learned and been entertained by the show for generations. When you can sit down with parents, children and grandchildren together to laugh and learn without all the background hoopla, that is a priceless gift. You have stayed popular for all these 42 years because the formula worked. Now you are exhausting my brain. Makes me wonder if you actually watch your own show. My opinion of Ryan as host is still on hold. He seems nervous.. not surprising. I'm not sure he has the right personality for the job. Or the right sense of spontaneous humor. Keeping an open mind.... so far. Disappointed, but Optimistic, E. W.

Totally enjoyable, much anticipated and not disappointing. In fact, they could have added another half hour to the running time and included a bit more interaction to each of the story lines. I wanted the pace of the story lines to slow down a bit... stretch out with more character interaction. In other words, I didn't want the movie to end. For me, seeing it again is a must because the interactions between characters, the costumes, background scenes and understanding the kings english must be revisited to be fully appreciated. If I had it on my dvr I would watch it at least 3 more times. If you have never seen the Downton Abbey series on pbs, you cannot appreciate the growth of each character in the series and may not understand the significance of their actions in the movie. The changes in societies, lives and attitudes that occurred after WWI was worldwide. Google it!
