The only reason I remotely enjoyed this was because Willem Dafoe was in it. I'm honestly unsure what they were trying to accomplish, recreating the original story or making up their own, it seems to be a mix of both, and to those who have read or watched the original, it is cringe worthy. Even to those who haven't watched it is is quite painful to watch
