Accurate depiction of the immoral separation of innocent,
helpless children from their parents through lies and deception.
Small children separated from families may never fully recover
from the trauma. They have very limited perceptions of their
suddenly changed world. They may think they have offended
their parents, or have been rejected by parents though trickery.
They can easily develop generalized insecurity due to loss of
parental love. The child's mind must wrestle with incomprehension of events and with fear and terror. If you have ever witnessed a small child lost from its mother or father go screaming in terror down the aisle of a store, you shared some insight of what losing sight of a parent means to a child. To the child, its guide and interpreter of the world has just vanished forever. If you have ever run after a screaming, fleeing child lost in a department store or other public place, and held and hugged it, you can sense that a tiny shard of hope has returned to the lost one. Hungry beasts and monsters have been held at bay for the moment. Toddlers not toilet trained quickly forget their incipient
grasp of control and improved self-image. This bold exposition
of universal truths about children and political exploitation of them is inhumane and a failure of American values.
