Dr Swadling. I loved this book. I have one. It is just a rare treasure to have and read the history and trading of the plumes of the Birds in the last 2 to 3 centuries across Asia into Europe. When Melanesians, mostly those in the interior did not have a clue what was happening along the coast. Its a must have book for reference and for ones own collections. Who would have thought trading of plumes, spices, and other artifacts were going on many years before Colonialists came into PNG (East NG). Great publication and historical book. Loved it..
