Cirkus.... Inspired from Gulzar's Angoor ( 1982 ) Angoor inspired from Do Dooni Chaar ( 1968 ) Earlier it was adapted in a Bengali film Braanti Bilas ( 1963 ) Originally it was a Shakespeare's play The Comedy Of Errors Two identical twins, gets separated and adopted by different families, staying in different cities For some reason, all four are now in one city and we have the comedy playing around the error of mixing up The main chunk of the role ( quantity ) is given to Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Mishra Both are better performers aa compared to the stupid kinda roles you have given them Rohit Sir !!!! The two leading actresses Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandes have very little scope to act Infact Varun Sharma have more screen time Tiku Talsania, Brijendra Kala, Johny Lever, Murli Sharma, Vrajesh Hirji, Mukesh Tiwari....all of these not managed well The only saving grace and interesting performance was given by that Marathi brilliant actor Siddharth Jadhav In Angoor we had Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma throughout the movie in centre, with all other characters playing along side by side, making the film a masterpiece That is not the case here in Cirkus That humorous bedroom scene between Sanjeev Kumar and Moushumi Chatterjee is the highlight of Angoor Similar scene tried here also, but fails miserably Let's check out Rohit Shetty's performance chart Pathetic films.... Festive times, so the ticket rates have also gone high, but the quality has gone down Though the movie is set in the 60s era, it's given a nice colourful look....grass with high pitched green, red buildings, nicely done up trains and cars, clean roads with trams operating, classy looking circus arena But the interesting movement of the film is missing So all this rosy thing done up is of no advantage Either Angoor had to be copied totally or just an outside theme had to be taken from it This half copying half trying to add extra masala, made the final product not worthy enough even for a one time watch First half 2 / 5 Second half 1 / 5 Overall 3 / 10 Can be avoided 425 people found this helpful.
