I was 1000% excited to see a Ridley Scott film, with a Juaquin Phoenix that resembled his character of fame in Gladiator.... snide, indiscreet, and powerful, yet cowardice at his core.
The film showed him as childish, unmanageable, and in my opinion was his worst film in his portfolio.
As far as a Ridley Scott film, it lacked the personal connection, I questioned everything that happened and the film didn't hold my attention long enough between the childish outbursts of Napoleon to focus on some amazing and wonderful military tactics that have long been credited to Napoleon.
If the movie was intended to show Napoleon as anything but a military leader, it succeeded.
Worst Film by both Ridley Scott and Juaquin Phoenix. My opinion.
