"Kalki 2898 A. D." was an enormous disappointment. Despite the hype and the star-studded cast, the film fails to deliver on almost every front. The storyline is convoluted and lacks coherence, making it difficult to follow and enjoy. The special effects, which were supposed to be groundbreaking, are subpar and seem outdated. The performances are lackluster, with the actors appearing disinterested and disconnected from their roles. Even the music, which is often a saving grace in poorly executed films, is forgettable and uninspired. In comparison, "Mela" starring Aamir Khan is a far superior film. While "Mela" may not be considered a cinematic masterpiece, it at least provides a coherent story, engaging characters, and some memorable songs. "Kalki 2898 A. D." falls short in every category, making "Mela" look like a work of art in comparison. Overall, "Kalki 2898 A. D." is a colossal waste of time and money. Save yourself the disappointment and watch "Mela" instead. It deserves a 1/5, and that feels generous.
