Fake profundity. This show is all over the place. The characters don’t really seem committed to their story lines, and often their actions don’t make sense at all. I was not scared *at all*. I did not feel sad for anyone. I had to trudge through to finish it.

I’m going to keep reading but my god are the first few chapters insufferable beyond belief. It’s like a poorly written dramedy satire of what someone imagines a self-help seminar and its congregants to be. It is hardcore cringe.
Coming back to say I tried to read on but it did not get better LOL, I thought the cheesy-as-hell story was a set-up, but it’s the whole book. Wow. Read through and find the other one star reviews.
