Ok. Here's the thing. When Wandavision came out I said, out loud, "If this ends up being a long, drawn out series about Wanda dealing with grief in a deeply unhealthy way...I'm gonna be pissed". And it was. That was it. The ONLY redeeming quality was that at least, after watching a weekly series where each episode contained roughly 18 minutes of content, Wanda finally came to terms with her loss and made plans to truly start the grieving process.
Cut to DSTMVOM.
NOTHING HAS CHANGED!
Wandavision was a waste of time. Wanda has learned nothing.
I rolled my eyes so many times during this movie I pulled a muscle. The lines are beyond cheesy.
"Hey demons! Go back to HELL!"
Two terrified children hide behind...the stairway railing...because that makes a movie poster shot?
And some of the deaths were so ridiculous I burst out laughing (loudly) in the theater during scenes intended to be shocking.
I LOVE Evil Dead. And if you watch this movie with the same spirit of campy horror, you're gonna love it. But Marvel Phase 3 is officially dead. Don't look for a return to greatness here.
The Multiverse has taken over Marvel and it's the worst writers cop-out ever.
Nothing matters. Nothing of consequence happens. There is no need for the audience to emotionally invest in any storyline or character because the Marvel Universe can simply watch audience feedback, shake their universe sized etch-a-sketch and start over in another universe.
